Focus Groups, for transcription purposes, are classed as being four or more people. This can be, for example, a Board Meeting, a round the table discussion or group discussion.

When recording a focus group, and you wish for speakers to be identified, it is of enormous help if you can ask the speakers to identify themselves before they speak and/or on the opening of the focus group. Group discussions can become very heated and excitable and it also helps if participants could be reminded to try and not talk over one another! Although, at Typing Solutions, we are highly skilled in transcribing focus groups of this type.
